Gyms in Seminyak: Where to Train, Stay and Buy a Day Pass

11 min read•Updated October 2026

Short answer

Seminyak is compact enough to walk between gyms. The Compound on Jl. Beraban is the biggest, with a pool, sauna and ice bath in its IDR 349,000 day pass. Soham in Petitenget is the wellness option, Athlean the barbell gym, and CrossFit Seminyak the box. Daily Gym is the best value at IDR 100,000. Stay around Petitenget to have three gyms within 10 minutes on foot, and go between April and October for the dry season.

Seminyak is the polished middle of Bali's west coast: beach clubs, restaurants and boutique villas, between Kuta to the south and Canggu to the north. It has fewer gyms than Canggu, but they are closer together, and the best of them come with pools, saunas and ice baths.

This guide is Seminyak only: the gyms, what they cost, which part of Seminyak to stay in, and how far everything is on foot. For the rest of the island, see our Bali gym guide, or the area guides for Canggu, Uluwatu and Kuta and Legian.

Seminyak's Areas: Pick the One Your Gym Is In

Seminyak runs from Batu Belig in the north to the Legian border in the south, and from the beach inland to Sunset Road. The gyms cluster in two places: around Petitenget and Jl. Beraban, and in the centre near Jl. Drupadi. Pick the cluster you want, then stay in it.

Getting Around Seminyak

Seminyak's streets are narrow and many are one way, so a short distance by road can mean a long loop. On foot it is a different place: every gym in this guide is within about 15 minutes' walk of at least one other.

📱 Gojek and Grab

Both apps do motorbike taxis and cars, and both work well in Seminyak. A motorbike taxi is the quickest way through the one-way system and usually costs very little for a hop across Seminyak.

🛵 Scooters

Useful if you plan to train in Canggu or Uluwatu as well. You need an international driving permit that covers motorbikes for your travel insurance to pay out, and the police do check.

When to Go: Dry Season vs Wet Season

☀️ April to October: dry season

Sunny and less humid, with the famous Seminyak sunsets. July, August, Christmas and New Year are the busiest and priciest weeks. April to June and September to October give you the weather without the crowds.

🌧️ November to March: wet season

Hot and humid, with heavy downpours that usually come in bursts rather than all day. Villas are cheaper and the gyms are quieter, which suits long stays.

Before you book:Nyepi, Bali's Day of Silence, usually falls in March. For 24 hours the island shuts down, including the airport and every gym, and you have to stay in your accommodation. Every foreign visitor also pays a one-off tourist levy of IDR 150,000, which you can pay in advance through the official Love Bali website.

💡 Tips for Training in Seminyak

  • Train early: gyms are busiest from about 7 to 10am, and non-air-conditioned boxes like CrossFit Seminyak get hot by midday.
  • Or train midday for less: Louis & Friends is IDR 50,000 between 12 and 4pm.
  • Check what the pass includes: The Compound and Soham include their recovery areas; most cheaper gyms have none.
  • Mind Sundays: Bali Fitness is closed.
  • Download Gojek and Grab before you land and compare prices.
