Short answer
Canggu has the densest gym scene in Bali. Body Factory is a short walk from Batu Bolong, Level Up in Berawa has the cheapest day pass at IDR 60,000, Bull Gym on Jl. Raya Canggu is the powerlifting gym, and Pererenan has the big new builds: Obsidian, RITE and Elite Fit. Day passes run from IDR 60,000 to about IDR 450,000. Traffic is the catch, so stay in the area of the gym you plan to use most. Go between April and October for the dry season.
Canggu is the reason Bali ends up on so many training-trip lists. In a few kilometres of coast between Berawa and Pererenan you can choose between a fan-cooled powerlifting gym, a budget weights room, a fight club in the rice fields, and gyms with pools, saunas and cold plunges that would stand out in any city.
This guide is Canggu only: the gyms, what they cost, which part of Canggu to stay in, and how to get around without losing half your day to traffic. For the rest of the island, see our Bali gym guide, or the area guides for Seminyak, Uluwatu and Kuta and Legian.

Canggu's Areas: Pick the One Your Gym Is In
"Canggu" covers several villages along the coast north of Seminyak. Each has its own feel and its own gyms, and moving between them at rush hour can take longer than the distance suggests. Work out which gym you want to train at most, then stay within walking distance of it.
The areas, west to east
Pererenan: The quieter village west of the Canggu river, with rice fields still between the villas. Home to the biggest new gyms: Obsidian, RITE and Elite Fit.
Tibubeneng & Jl. Raya Canggu: The main road inland, with Bull Gym and RAW Gym on it. Busy with traffic, but central to everything.
Echo Beach (Batu Mejan): The surf break at the western end of Canggu proper: sunset bars, seafood and a more relaxed feel.
Batu Bolong: The heart of Canggu: cafés, co-working, nightlife and the busiest beach. Body Factory is a short walk away.
Berawa: Polished and expat-heavy, with beach clubs, international schools and Level Up Gym, the cheapest day pass in Canggu.

Here are the gyms by area, so you can match them to where you're staying. Tap a gym for its page, location and, where we have them, photos, equipment and prices.
🏄 Batu Bolong and Tibubeneng
The centre of Canggu and the main road behind it. If you're staying anywhere near the Batu Bolong strip, these are the gyms you can walk to.
Body Factory Bali →
Jl. Nelayan 27 · 10 min walk from Batu Bolong · open 6am to 10pm
The gym that built Canggu's premium fitness scene and still the all-rounder most people start with. A big free weights area, racks, a full cable setup, sleds and a machine section, plus a recovery area with a pool, ice baths and sauna. Busy in the mornings, quieter in the afternoon.
Bull Gym Canggu →
Jl. Raya Canggu, Tibubeneng · 10 to 15 min by scooter from Batu Bolong · open 7am to 9pm
The lifter's gym. Powerlifting-focused, no spa, and cooled by fans rather than air conditioning, so train early or late. Day pass IDR 250,000, monthly around IDR 1,100,000, and there's a protein bar for after.
RAW Gym Bali →
Jl. Raya Canggu, Tibubeneng · on the main road above Batu Bolong
A weights gym with a busy class timetable: HIIT, plus Muay Thai and boxing. RAW also has sites in Uluwatu and Ubud, which is handy if you're moving around the island.
🌴 Berawa
The polished, expat end of Canggu, south east of Batu Bolong. Beach clubs, international schools and the best-value gym in the area.
Level Up Gym →
Jl. Pantai Berawa 101a · open 6am to 10pm daily
The cheapest day pass in Canggu by a long way: IDR 60,000 a day, IDR 235,000 a week or IDR 450,000 a month. No pool or cold plunge, just the equipment you need. If you're staying a month and mainly want to lift, this is the one that saves you the most.
🌾 Pererenan
The village west of Canggu is where the biggest new gyms have opened, each with recovery facilities built in. If your trip is mostly about training, staying here puts three of them within a few minutes of each other.
Obsidian Gym →
Jl. Raya Canggu, Pererenan
The biggest gym in Bali, with a huge weights floor, a pool, sauna, cold plunge and Japanese-style onsen baths. The day pass is around IDR 440,000, and unlike most premium gyms here, the sauna and cold plunge are included. Monthly memberships are around IDR 1,980,000.
RITE Gym (formerly Wrong Gym) →
Jl. Pantai Pererenan 158
Wrong Gym relaunched as RITE in early 2026, at the same address. It now has four studios (Main, Power, Focus and Sky) and Technogym equipment. Prices changed with the relaunch, so check the current day pass before you go.
Elite Fit Bali →
Jl. Sempol 26 · 7 min walk from central Pererenan
Arsenal Strength equipment, a CrossFit area, an outdoor training space, a sauna and ice bath, and a coffee bar. Day passes come in two tiers, about IDR 350,000 and IDR 450,000, depending on what's included.
Surya Gym →
Jl. Raya Canggu, Pererenan · open 7am to 10pm weekdays, 7am to 8pm weekends
Barbells, racks and deadlift platforms with views over the rice fields, plus a fight club for Muay Thai and boxing, a coffee bar, air conditioning and showers. The pick if you want lifting and striking under one roof.
What about Omni?Omni Gym, with its outdoor lifting area, 25-metre pool and 24-hour access, is in Munggu, a few minutes' drive west of Pererenan rather than in Canggu itself. It's not on GymMaps yet. If you train there, add it in the app and you'll earn points for the new gym.

Getting Around Canggu
Canggu grew from rice fields faster than its roads did. Most streets are one lane each way, with no pavement, and the few routes between the villages jam at rush hour. The good news: inside each area, the gyms, cafés and beach are close enough to walk.
Walking times
| Route | Distance | On foot |
|---|---|---|
| Batu Bolong → Body Factory | 0.9 km | 10 min |
| Berawa → Level Up Gym | 0.8 km | 9 min |
| Pererenan → Elite Fit | 0.6 km | 7 min |
| Batu Bolong → Echo Beach | 1.7 km | 20 min |
| Batu Bolong → Berawa, along the beach | 1.6 km | 20 min |
Walking times from Mapbox route data at an easy pace. It's hot and pavements come and go, so allow extra and take water.
🛵 Scooters
Most people staying more than a week rent a scooter, and it's the fastest way between areas. You need an international driving permit that covers motorbikes for your travel insurance to pay out, and the police do check. If you haven't ridden before, Canggu traffic is not the place to learn.
📱 Gojek and Grab
Both apps do motorbike taxis and cars. A motorbike taxi is the quickest way through the traffic and usually costs very little for a hop within Canggu. Some banjars (village communities) discourage app pickups, so you may need to walk to a main road to be collected. Drop-offs are fine.
How long it takes by road
| Route | Distance | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Airport → Batu Bolong | 20 km | 1 hour, often more |

| Batu Bolong → Uluwatu | 36 km | 1 h 40 min to 2 h 30 min |
Distances from Mapbox route data. Times allow for typical traffic; late afternoon and the school run are the worst.
When to Go: Dry Season vs Wet Season
☀️ April to October: dry season
Sunny, less humid and the best surf. July, August, Christmas and New Year are the busiest and priciest weeks, and the gyms are busiest then too. April to June and September to October give you the weather without the crowds.
🌧️ November to March: wet season
Hot and humid, with heavy downpours that usually come in bursts rather than all day. Some lanes flood. The gyms are quieter and villas are cheaper, which suits long stays.
Before you book:Nyepi, Bali's Day of Silence, usually falls in March. For 24 hours the island shuts down, including the airport and every gym, and you have to stay in your accommodation. Every foreign visitor also pays a one-off tourist levy of IDR 150,000, which you can pay in advance through the official Love Bali website.
💡 Tips for Training in Canggu

- Stay near your gym: a 10-minute walk beats a 25-minute scooter ride twice a day.
- Ask about passes: weekly and monthly passes are far cheaper per session than day passes.
- Bring your own gloves and wraps for Muay Thai and boxing at Surya or RAW.
- Download Gojek and Grab before you land and compare prices.
